Perfect companion toy for my 8mo My 8mo loves this. It is great for him to chew on, snuggle up to, wave around, and throw. I don't mind it when he waves it around while in my lap, unlike so many "teethers." The dye from the thread eyes ran a little during the first wash. This didn't detract from the simple appeal of it. The face just looks slightly smudged. I expect that normal wear and washings will take care of this.
Cute and Functional This product is very cute and even though I bought it for my newborn daughter, my two year old son loves it as well. The comb and brush fit into their own slots and the base turns into a hand held mirror as well.
messy and a choking hazard The first time I gave one of these to my 10 month old, she was already eating cheerios, graham crackers and rice rusks. The crumbs got everywhere. She was able to bite off such a large chunk of the biscuit that I had to sweep it out of her mouth because she had difficulty chewing it and it did not seem to be breaking up or dissolving like the rice rusks. I continued to let her have the rest of the biscuit and the same thing happened again. I finally had to throw out the biscuit. I should have thrown out the whole box. A few weeks later our nanny gave her one of these under supervision while she was in her high chair. It broke off into a couple pieces, one of which got lodged in her throat. She went from coughing to gagging and not breathing as her panicked face turned from scarlet to purple. Fortunately, the piece dislodged itself before our nanny had to do any back blows or CPR. We stopped buying the rice rusks because of all the bad stuff that's been doing on with food products from China, but we'll be going back to the baby mum mums.
Great! Just what I needed to keep my little girl who is 20 months old warm and snug during the night. She doesn't mind it because it does get twisted around her like the sleepsack (without leg openings) that we used before. We just put it on over her pajamas and are set to go. If she wakes up before me in the morning she can get up and walk with no problem. I considered the toddler sleepsack with foot openings but thought maybe her feet could get pulled up inside the "sack" part and she would still have problems with bunching/twisting at night. I really like that this product has more defined leg area but is still roomy enough to fit over pjs. We had already tried footed-sleepers over pjs and that was too tight and difficult to get on but footed-sleeper by itself just didn't seem warm enough to me. Anyways, now no worries about staying covered at night. I will be looking for a more lightweight version when summer arrives.
